Do you speak the Language of the Universe?
As the August full moon rises — luminous, whole, and unwavering — I’m often reminded of one of the most frequently asked questions I receive from students, whether they are journeying to become yoga teachers, meditation guides, or simply attending one of my retreats:
“How do I know when the time is right?”
It’s a question rooted in longing, in hope, in uncertainty. And my answer is always the same:
You must learn the language of the universe.
The universe is speaking to you — all the time. Through numbers that repeat, through the sudden appearance of an animal or insect, through a word overheard in passing or a line read in a book you almost didn’t pick up. The question is not whether the universe is responding.
The question is: Are you listening?
One of the greatest misconceptions we carry is that divine answers must look and sound like what we want to hear. But the universe doesn’t always answer in alignment with your expectations — it responds in alignment with your evolution. That can be hard to accept in a culture obsessed with immediacy, where everything has to happen not just today, but yesterday. But true wisdom is timeless.
In the sacred texts and lineages I’ve studied and taught for years, there is no rush. Nothing blossoms before its time. One of the translations of Tantra — the style of yoga I hold most dear — is a tapestry. Another is a tool for expansion. I teach both.
The tapestry reminds us that every thread, every being, every moment, is exactly where it needs to be. If you pull one thread out of place, the pattern is broken.
The same is true of life. Every person, encounter, delay, and sign has its place — even if it doesn’t make sense to us in the moment.
This is what I remind my students:
Before you seek an answer, you must first ask a clear question.
That question must come from the heart — not from the mind, which is tangled in wanting.
Then, you must listen — not with your ears, but with your soul.
On my own journey, the signs are everywhere. A butterfly resting on my shoulder. A sequence of numbers on a passing car. A fox crossing my path at dusk. These aren’t coincidences. They are communications. And I share glimpses of them on my social media — not because I need to interpret them for you, but to plant the seed of awareness within you.
You don’t have to search.
But when something finds you, take notice.
Feel into why it appeared, what question it might be answering, and what part of your heart it is speaking to.
When you begin to do this — to tune in to the symbols and signs around you — your connection to the natural world strengthens. Your questions refine. Your path clarifies. And slowly, lovingly, the universe reveals its pattern — thread by thread.
Wishing you a full moon of illumination,
awareness, and quiet knowing.
Namaste,
Victoria.
