Dawn at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth.
As I reflected on the experience, I realised that I had arrived expecting immediate serenity and instead met movement first. Many faces in the crowd carried an urgency — an intensity that felt almost desperate at times. There was deep devotion, but also longing, perhaps even fear. Offerings were given with sincerity, with hope.
From Ocean to Mountain.
This reflection forms part of the Sri Lanka Diaries — an exploration of sacred travel, elemental shifts, and the restructuring of the inner temple. Moving from the active energy of the Indian Ocean to the grounded stillness of Kandy’s mountains, this piece explores how landscape, ritual, and daily yogic practice become tools for inner transformation.
Practice & Non-Attachment.
This reflection explores non-attachment (vairāgya) through lived experience — solo travel, sacred geometry practice, and the application of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali in modern life. A meditation on comfort, identity, and the restructuring of the inner temple.
The Weightless Sweetness of Falling in Love with Life Again.
Solitude removes the mirror.
When I arrive somewhere alone, where no one knows my history, something shifts. There is no reference point. No expectations. No familiar version of me to uphold. I wake when my body wakes. I eat when I am hungry. I walk without needing a destination.
From Transmission to Teaching: A New Chapter in Yoga Education.
This period has marked an important threshold — one where years of teaching experience, curriculum development, mentoring, and quality assurance are being distilled into learning resources that will support the next generation of yoga teachers.
2026 — A Year of One.
As the calendar turns to 2026, we enter a Year of One. In numerology and sacred geometry, one represents origin, initiation, and pure potential. It is the point before the line, the silent centre from which all form emerges.
The 14 Universal Laws.
If anything, it is not the structure of our bodies that has evolved, but the structure of our consciousness—our ability to observe ourselves, to shape our internal reality, and to engage with the deeper patterns that move through the world. Ancient traditions recognised this long before the modern language of psychology or quantum theory emerged.
Honouring the Value of Our Knowledge, Experience, and Energy.
At the Love Life School of Yoga, we go beyond teaching yoga—we guide practitioners into understanding their purpose, honouring their energy, and valuing their knowledge with integrity. Our Yoga Alliance-accredited trainings and advanced meditation programmes support you in stepping into your highest potential as a teacher and as a human being.
The Subtle Addiction to Stimulation
We have become conditioned to believe that movement equals progress. That if we are not growing, expanding, producing, or sharing — we are somehow falling behind. The constant push for more — more visibility, more engagement, more income, more transformation — can so easily disguise itself as “spiritual ambition.” Yet in truth, this constant pursuit often activates the same chemistry as stress.
Stop Manifesting Things. Start Manifesting Frequency.
So many of us get lost in the illusion of the "perfect picture" — whether it's a specific job, a relationship with a particular person, or a dream home. We're often advised to imagine every tiny detail, but this Full Moon gently whispers a different message:
A Cocoon of Transformation.
As the new moon rises on 21st September, it brings with it a powerful solar eclipse — the closing of one cycle and the opening of another. This celestial moment is magnified by its alignment with the autumn equinox, the sacred pause when day and night stand in perfect balance.
To Save or To Serve
There is a profound difference between choosing to save and choosing to serve.
To save often comes from a place of urgency, of believing we must rescue the world or the people around us. It carries the energy of being a saviour — stepping in uninvited, assuming others are not capable, or projecting our own need for purpose onto those who may not be ready or may never have asked for our help. Even when driven by compassion, saving can become a subtle form of control, or a way to fill the emptiness within ourselves by becoming “needed.”
The Sacred Power of Saying ‘No’
In a world full of invitations, opportunities, collaborations, and constant communication, the pressure to say yes is relentless. Especially in the wellness industry, where compassion, support, and openness are considered core values, many of us feel a subtle obligation to be agreeable — to be available, to be collaborative, to be accommodating.
Do you speak the Language of the Universe?
One of the greatest misconceptions we carry is that divine answers must look and sound like what we want to hear. But the universe doesn’t always answer in alignment with your expectations — it responds in alignment with your evolution.
Karma, Kleshas, and the Seeds of Our Becoming
Exploring Yoga Sutra 2.12 and the Subtle Mechanics of Rebirth and Reaction.
What is karma, really? In Sutra 2.12, Patañjali offers a powerful insight into the architecture of our lived experience…
Slowing Down, Starting Anew, and Falling in Love with Life
As we approach the New Moon on July 24th, we find ourselves at a quiet yet powerful threshold.
The vibrant energy that marked the beginning of summer is starting to shift. The days are still warm, the sun still high - but if you pause and listen, there’s a subtle pull inward. A sense of slowing. A whisper that something is turning.
A Pathway to Depth: An Invitation into Practice and Presence
There comes a moment when your yoga practice begins to whisper something more… a quiet invitation to live your practice off the mat, to embody its teachings more fully, to share it from the heart.
If you’ve felt this shift stirring within you, our next 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training begins in March 2026 and the journey starts now.
Playfulness as a Path.
We often speak of the Full Moon as a time of culmination or illumination. But it can also be a time when things feel especially heavy - energetically, emotionally, even spiritually.
Yoga Beyond the Pose: Returning to the Essence
This simple yet profound verse reminds us that beyond form lies vibration. Om is not just a chant. It is a sacred frequency. A symbol of the unchanging consciousness that exists within all.
Beyond the Labels.
In the world we live in, we’re often asked to introduce ourselves in a single sentence. We’re expected to choose one profession, one path, one identity that sums us up. “What do you do?”
